Turkish arist Ardan Ozmenoglu has created a series of three-dimensional trees out of layers of painted glass. Each layer of glass appears abstract on its own; it’s only when it’s layered with the other sheets of glass that it forms into a cohesive image of a tree.
You’ll never get bored looking at this stunning piece, because the trees appearance changes according to your vantage point. The purpose of the project was to provide a social commentary of transience versus permanence in human culture and to encourage people to look at things from multiple perspectives.
Of his art, Ozmenoglu says, "my approach to my art and its sources has been and will always be contemporary in the extreme: my investigation into image coexists with aesthetic gestures that challenge, provoke, and invite."
