The Wing Assignment Explores a Theme Through Many Channels

In Nov 2011, the Wing Assignment invited 20 creatives from a range of disciplines to respond to the package -- the package contained a birds wing. The brief was to create a piece inspired by or using the wing.

The Wing Assignment Collection currently consists of work by 60 contemporary artists from a range of professions including architects, composers, graphic and fashion designers, video and filmmakers and many more.

The Wing Assignment is run by artists/designers Nina Farrell and Asa Medhurst. For their second exhibition, they have teamed with Asylum directors Jo Dennis and Dido Hallett to curate a thematic mix of wing-inspired art. Though the avian theme is most predominant, the underlying theme of artistic unity is perhaps the most fascinating.
