The Rape-aXe Could Prevent Violent Crimes

This is one of the hardest trends I have ever had to write. Mainly because I don’t know how I feel about it. The Rape-aXe is an anti-rape condom that a woman would wear whenever she was feeling vulnerable.

The condom is latex and has a series of barbs inside it and when the attacker is about to commit vaginal-rape, the barbs would attach on to the attackers penis. This would cause such extreme pain when withdrawn, thus giving the victim time to escape. The Rape-aXe can only be surgically removed once it is embedded, so the attacker would be easily identified at the hospital.

3. Awareness and Education - A trend towards educating individuals about sexual assault and consent could lead to increased demand for protective devices and advocacy for survivors.
Industry Implications
1. Personal Safety - Companies that develop personal safety devices such as the Rape-aXe condom, could see increased demand for their products.
2. Healthcare - Hospitals and healthcare providers could benefit from developing sexual assault prevention technologies, including tools for evidence collection and victim support.
