This Observation Tower Will Be the World's Tallest Building

The Mile is an extremely audacious and groundbreaking observation tower, developed by Carlo Ratti as part of a collaboration with British digital design studio Atmos and German engineering firm Schlaich Bergermann, that will be the world's tallest observation tower as well as the world's tallest building.

The tower will extend up to a height of 1,609 meters, exactly one mile. To convey just how ridiculous that height is, consider that the current tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, is just over half that height.

The Mile won't be any old observation tower however, as it will be laden with special sculptural capsules that will be able to host events and facilities such as swimming pools. Ultimately, this is a project that both shows off the latest and greatest architectural ideas while promoting engagement with the public.
Trend Themes
1. Audacious Observation Towers - The development of extremely audacious observation towers presents opportunities for innovative architectural designs and unique user experiences.
