The Junk King Bio Video Showcases a Magical Oasis

Vince Hannemann A.K.A the Junk King is a found object installation artist from Austin, TX, that has spend most of his life collecting and constructing what he calls The Cathedral of Junk.

Since the age of 16 Vince has been making sculptures out of everyday thrown-away objects, and he is now the proud owner of his own giant backyard junk oasis. The cathedral has become a major tourist attraction and Vince says that the people who come visit often experience moments of euphoria as they look upon old junk.

In 2010, Vince was forced to remove almost 60 tons worth of stuff due to the city of Austin requesting a building permit. Vince lost nearly half of his creation, but he has since gained a permit and the city has gathered together to help rebuild this magical place.
