The Iglou is Fireproof, Waterproof and Built in Seconds

The designer Geoffroy De Reynal has created The Iglou -- an insulated outdoor shelter for people experiencing homelessness.

This shelter system was designed as a way to offer rough sleepers in France a safer place to spend the night. The shelter was built with efficiency and simplicity in mind, therefore include no loose parts and can be put together within seconds. It's built from polyethylene foam, and can keep a person inside completely warm, even in freezing temperatures. In addition, the Iglou is fire-resistant, and water-proof, protecting the person inside from any dangers that exist outside.

De Reynal has produced 20 prototypes of the Iglou, which are distributed throughout France, but hopes to offer the Igloud shelter on a larger scale.
