'The Identity Project' Celebrates LGBTQ Gender Roles

No one likes being labeled, and The Identity Project has responded by allowed you to label yourself. San Francisco-based photographer Sarah Deragon wants people to celebrate their different gender and sexual identities. She has set out to photograph portraits of people in different LGBTQ communities accross North America.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday she is posting new portraits on The Identity Project's website, Facebook and Instagram accounts. Anyone in the LGBTQ community can apply to be photographed. Some have already labeled themselves as a "Butch Queen," a "Gender-Blind Femme Bottom" and "Queer Femme Beefcake." Sarah has also recently started to take family and couple portraits. Some labeled their family as "Legally Married," "Modern Family Just Got Cooler" and "Steadies."
