Istanbul-based fashion label Les Benjamins has officially unveiled its Spring/Summer 2023 collection titled 'The Horse of the East.' According to the brand's creative director, BuBunyamin Aydin, the new collection draws inspiration from horse racing and therefore incorporates a variety of Western-specific design elements.
The collection is split into two parts, each of which explores a different horse racing-related concept. The first concept offers a range of pieces that focus on replicating the technical elements of horse racing apparel, while the second concept borrows more from the ceremonial dressing associated with the sport.
"When I was living in Dubai, I was in Business Bay, and my house was really close to Meydan, where all the big horse races take place. Lamia [my partner] would always tell me about her childhood, and how she was inspired by dressing up for the horse races she would attend, and create custom pieces for," said Aydin.
