This Brazilian Pair Turned the Food Pyramid into a Game

Brazilian design student Adriano Furtado and nutrition student Gabriela Bizari hope to conquer childhood obesity by reinventing the food pyramid. The pair believe Brazilians suffers from obesity because they don't know enough about food. The pyramid can be confusing so they created 'Meu Dia Alimentar' (My Daily Food).

The interactive game comes with a board with blank colored squares, each color is a food group and each square is a portion. The puzzle pieces represent a specific food such as milk; they vary in color based on food group. The game is targeted at children, who can keep track of their food by placing the pieces on the square and matching the colors together. When the board is full you had a well-balanced day.

The pair hope to bring the game to other countries and are making plans for an app that will be geared towards adults.
