Elon Musk Announced Tesla is Pursuing Steam Support for its Car Consoles

Elon Musk has announced a new venture for Tesla whereby the company is pursuing support for the 'Steam' gaming platform on Tesla infotainment consoles. The Tesla 'Model S' and 'Model X' both have dashboard consoles with performance comparable to a 'PlayStation 5,' meaning these systems are capable of running demanding video games.

Tesla currently has a small library of available games that can be played on the infotainment system and Tesla community members have successfully ported a variety of games to their personal in-car console systems. In each of these examples, the games performed extremely well. Due to this, Tesla wants support for the Steam library of games, which consists of tens of thousands of video games. This would solidify the in-car Tesla console as a strong gaming platform to pass the time while drivers wait in their cars, whether charging the car or simply relaxing.
