For Iron Man 2, Terrence Howard is going to be replaced by Don Cheadle, a huge shock to the actor who starred in the original Iron Man flick.
"It was the surprise of a lifetime," Howard said. "There was no explanation, (the contract) just up and vanished."
Iron Man didn’t catapult Terrence Howard to success, but it certainly did help relaunch his star. Not having a sequel to fall back on could hurt him, but perhaps he doesn’t need it.
