Swiss designer Yves Behar designs the Telo, which is an electric car that is able to fit the passenger as well as the cargo capacity of a pickup truck compact within the length equal to a small city car. This is fueled by two small electric motors rather than the traditional combustion engine at the front. The way that the car is designed, the driver and passengers will fit much further forward in comparison to a traditional pickup truck.
Behar talks about the mindset behind Telo with Dezeen, explaining that "Most EV [electric vehicle] cars out there are basically configured in the same way that gasoline-engine cars have been. And so the opportunity there was to say: 'Okay, how do we deliver a fully functional EV pickup truck with a full-size truck bed, with a large passenger cabin, but utilise a layout that will make it much more practical and much smaller in the urban environment?'"
