Wendell Burnette Architects Creates the Telescope House

Wendell Burnette Architects designed the Telescope House, which is a modern cabin in Arizona overlooking beautiful views of Sedona. This is created to optimize the iconic landscape as the home creates a shadowy look in the desert town, known for its red-tone rock forms and outdoor activities.

It is designed for a couple who are planning to live there full-time soon, secluded in a nature retreat. The Telescope House is rectangular in shape and rests on a slightly sloped base and rests between rows of old Juniper trees. The team explains, "The Corten cladding is made of standard-size sheets lapped downslope and folded down N-S elevations as full-height flashing. It is naturally fireproof along with steel-plate window frames."
