The Tekio Lamp is sure to bring a lot of comparisons to mind such as slinky toys, worms and industrial ducts. Inspired by something a little more artistic and traditional, these lamps looked to Japanese Cochin paper lanterns for inspiration.
Designed by London-based product and furniture designer Anthony Dickens, the Tekio Lamp was also inspired by his travels. Named after the Japanese word for 'adaptation,' the Tekio Lamp is a modular light fixture that can be shaped and re-shaped into whatever form the owner wishes it to be. Currently a prototype, the Tekio Lamp will be available next year.
