This Technology Documentary is Built On Ideas From Redditors

Social media-aggregating site Reddit has launched its own technology documentary series, called 'Cyborg Nation.'

The series of short technology documentaries examines how advanced devices and programs are integrated into the everyday lives of Americans. The series has six episodes, including one on prosthetic limbs and another on technology that could remote control live cockroaches. None of the episodes are much longer than five minutes, making them perfect Internet content.

'Cyborg Nation' was first announced in the r/futurology subreddit, where Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian asked Redditors (contributing members of the Reddit community) to suggest topics and concepts for the technology documentary project. This crowdsourcing helped unearth rich material for the innovative interrogative webisodes, and furthered Reddit's push to create its own original content.
