The Taylor Holland Fra[me's] Project Shows the Beauty is in the Holder

The Taylor Holland Fra[me's] Project holds up as a work of art. TheParis-based artist Taylor Holland was inspired to create this project after visiting the Louvre and being mesmerized by the artistic accomplishment in the ornate frames that held some of the world's art masterpieces. Many of the picture holders were extremely detailed in their embellishments and draw the attention of the eye.

In this series, Holland takes photographs of the antique frames found within the Louvre and digitally manipulates them in order to fill them with their own content. The frames now serve as the holder and the art challenging the viewer's perception on what defines "art."

The latest part of this project has Holland partnering with Saintill Lijsten to see these digital manipulations come into fruition by creating physical prototypes of the frames.
