Ship Regatta Celebrations

A Special Tall Ships Event will be Held for Canada's 150th Anniversary

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada, Charlottetown will host a bevy of tall ships in June 2017 as they sail from the U.K. as part of a 7,000 nautical mile race.

The city is expecting six to eight ships to dock in the city's harbor for residents and visitors to enjoy. The ships will remain there from June 30th to July 2nd before continuing the race and moving on to the next port. The event will be one of many spectacular events being held across the country to commemorate the country's 150th anniversary.

Speaking on the tall ships coming to Charlottetown, events officer Wayne Long explained that, "It's not only to have the ships sitting docked, but to engage residents and visitors and give them an opportunity to experience these unique structures."
