The Tailio is a litter box-embedded monitor that keeps tabs on your cat's weight and other health determinants so you can know if something's not quite right. The device was invented by engineer Alex Treiner after his cat passed away suddenly just days after losing a huge amount of weight.
The Tailio keeps track of how heavy the cat is, how much waste it produces, how frequently it 'goes to the bathroom' and so on. Data is then processed in the cloud and used to create an individual profile of the feline. The data can be viewed on a companion app, allowing owners to identify patterns of behavior that could be of concern.
Treiner is running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for production of the Tailio, with a pledge of $99 getting you set up with a unit if the campaign is successful.
