Trustworthy Social Sharing Apps

The Open Messaging Platform App Omlet Debuted at the SXSW 2014

Creating a new Open Messaging Platform that lets you create your own GIFs, chat and share photos with new people without exchanging contact information and promising not to monetize or sell your data, Omlet is the newest app to debut at SXSW 2014.

Setting a new standard for mobile messaging applications, this latest SXSW 2014 launched app will let consumers "share anything, with anyone, anywhere," and at the same time be the sole owners of their data.

Created by Stanford Professor Monica Lam, Omlet stores users’ data only for two weeks on their servers, which makes it different than all the other apps out there.

"Omlet is the first open chat platform that lets users own and manage their data. In a time when users are becoming more aware of the dangers of closed networks that monetize their data, Omlet has created the first open chat platform that gives users the ability to save and manage their data in any way they choose," says Lam.
