Designer Agusta Sveinsdottir's Jewelry is Coated with Dust Particles

Icelandic designer Agusta Sveinsdottir has created a line of marvelously unique jewelry products -- dubbed 'Dust' -- that are made up of dust particles that disintegrate over time. This unique jewelry collection allows the wearer to experience transformation and disintegration, with the jewelry's appearance and character changing over time.

Sveinsdottir used a biodegradable adhesive to be able to 'attach' a dust coating on the jewelry. Metallic rings, bangles and bracelets are coated with the dust, which falls off over time to reveal the man-made skeleton of the object.

The project is intended to remind the wearer of the fact that earthly pursuits are impermanent and transient. This understanding is reflected in the unique character of the jewelry.
