'Saving the City' Shows Architects How to Improve Urban Areas

British architecture company, Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, or 'RSH+P,' created the project 'Saving the City' to display different sustainable housing examples at this year's Venice Architecture Biennale.

The project includes a series of models displayed in a colorful room with statistics concerning the current housing crisis many urban areas are dealing with, which includes one sign that reads "One in four people are homeless or living in slums." The company's solution is to create public spaces and sustainable housing that are inclusive to everyone, meaning that they are affordable and intermingle people of different economic classes.

This works to ensure that urban areas don't have areas that are separated by levels of wealth. The Saving the City project also makes clear the importance of improving public transportation and encouraging better areas for walking and cycling -- cutting down on the environment impact.
