Nest-Like Chocolate Eggs

Waitrose's Surprise Easter Egg Doubles as a Bowl for Dipping

Waitrose's 'Eggstraordinary Dippy Easter Egg' has been flying off the store shelves because it's a surprise Easter egg that boasts a playful design and an interactive element.

Unlike many chocolate Easter eggs, this dark chocolate one boasts a realistic-looking exterior that's pale and speckled like a genuine bird egg. Once halved and cracked open, the egg reveals an interior of smaller speckled eggs in a bedding of freeze-dried passionfruit, white chocolate flakes and caramelized cocoa nib "soil." While this is a novel feature in and of itself, Waitrose encourages interaction with the chocolate egg by alternating between biting and dipping to experience all of the flavors included.

The Eggstraordinary Dippy Easter Egg was developed for the Easter season this year by Waitrose in collaboration with Heston.
