Sing-Song Supermarket Campaigns

The Edeka Group Campaign is Provocative

As the largest supermarket corporation in Germany, it’s no surprise to see the The Edeka Group made the news. But the ‘Supergeil’ reason it made the news is surprising this time around.

The epic and amazingly funny new three-minute music video commercial, entitled Supergeil, is both hilarious and cheeky—the literal translation can mean "super cool" or "super sexy" in German.

Starring middle-aged singer Friedrich Liechtenstein singing, dancing, bathing in milk, smoking sausages and getting up to all kinds of naughty behavior, the Edeka Group ad is going viral.

Set to a catchy techno beat, the cool and entertaining ad is sung in German, but Liechtenstein’s funky performance definitely transcends language barriers.

The ad was created by ad agency Jung von Matt and was inspired by local pop culture.
