Sunburn-Prone Dolls

The Interactive Nivea Doll Teaches Sun Protection for Kids

When there's the chance to build sandcastles and splash int he sea, sun protection for kids is the last thing on their mind. But in order to teach kids the importance of applying sunscreen from an early age, Nivea created a doll to give out at the beach.

When exposed to the hot Brazilian sun, the interactive Nivea Doll's skin turned a bright red, reiterating the importance of putting on sunscreen before play. Since precautions can be taken to avoid sunburns, boys and girls could apply Nivea sunscreen to the doll's skin in order to make the redness go away.

In order to help parents communicate this important message on skin sensitivity in the sun more effectively to kids, Nivea targeted mothers and kids ages three and up.
