SUN ICE Beverages Debuts a New Cocktail Line in Eight Flavors

SUN ICE Beverages has introduced a ready-to-drink cocktail product named SUN ICE, which in its first month on the market has achieved over 1,000 cases sold. The company maintains that this interest is driven by the product's combination of strong alcohol content and affordability.

Each SUN ICE cocktail contains 10% alcohol by volume and is intended to provide roughly three separate cocktail servings when poured over ice into a rocks glass. This brings the cost per drink down to approximately two dollars. The brand's pricing strategy positions the product as a budget-friendly alternative to bar cocktails, traditional hard seltzers, and other premixed canned beverages, many of which offer lower alcohol percentages or higher per-serving costs.

SUN ICE Beverages offers its SUN ICE cocktail in eight fruit-based flavors, including Red Cherry Blast, Watermelon Punch, Tropic Mango, Grape Splash, Orange Club, Pink Lemonade, Green Apple Rush, and Blue Razz.

Trend Themes

  1. High-abv Ready-to-drink Cocktails — Stronger premixed beverages create room for value-focused formats that replicate multiple bar-style servings in one convenient package.
  2. Budget Cocktail Alternatives — Affordable per-pour pricing signals demand for products that bridge at-home drinking occasions with the perceived strength and variety of on-premise cocktails.
  3. Fruit-forward Flavor Variety — Broad fruit-based assortments reflect opportunities for RTD brands to differentiate through playful flavor portfolios that appeal to experimentation-driven consumers.

Industry Implications

  1. Alcoholic Beverages — The category is being reshaped by higher-strength, lower-cost cocktail formats that challenge hard seltzers, canned cocktails, and traditional spirits mixers.
  2. Convenience Retail — Single-brand RTD cocktail lines with multiple flavors support impulse purchases by combining affordability, potency, and easy shelf navigation.
  3. Hospitality — At-home cocktail substitutes place pressure on bars and restaurants to justify premium drink pricing through experience, customization, and ambiance.
