Subway Passenger Stoplights

The Subway Signal Light Alerts Passengers When the Doors Will Close

Knowing when it's safe to run for the train is a little bit easier and a whole lot safer with the Subway Signal Light. The digital sand timer is placed on either side of the train doors and changes from green to proceed, amber to hurry up and finally red to stop.

The Subway Signal Light comes in response to the high number of passenger injuries that occur each year on public transit trains, which stems from charging the doors. By installing the device on public transit trains around the world, the Subway Signal Light could drastically reduce this number of injuries and keep service running smoothly with fewer delays. Designer Hyun Ju Park hopes the innovation will help to save lives and increase efficiency during peak hours.
