Blog Book Deals

Stuff White People Like

Nothing makes members of the 'traditional' print media more angry than when a blogger gets a book deal, so when Christian Lander's Stuff White People Like turned from a tongue-in-cheek blog to an actual book--published by Random House, no less--I had to snag a copy.

If you haven't checked out the blog, its title might sound a bit provocative. The site, however, is meant to approach the sillier aspects of pop culture from a non-hatred point of view in list format. Its entries are done in list format, and include things like "Appearing to enjoy classical music," "Facebook," and "Unpaid Internships."

Since its inception, the site has gotten 43.5 million hits and has inspired a number of spinoffs--Stuff Brown People Like, Stuff Educated Black People Like, Stuff Gay Parents Like, and Lander's favorite and mine, White Stuff People Like. Lander is currently on a book tour to promote Stuff White People Like.
