StudioAC Designs a New Home Overlooking Devil's Glen

Canadian design studio StudioAC unveils its new project that is located near Toronto by the Bruce Peninsula. It appears to be an agricultural building and overlooks a wooded area known as the Devil's Glen. Whilst designing the home, it was important to ensure that it had a minimal impact on the areas that it was surrounded by.

The studio explains how the design process began with fixations, stating "[We] began with two fixations: one, having the house sited true to the north, south, east and west to take advantage of the solar path throughout the day, the view to the water and to avoid disturbing as much of the natural habitat as possible. The second fixation was to have the roofscape act as a device to shape light, levels of intimacy and vantage points to the treetops, water, and sky beyond."
