The New York Times Introduces the Strands Game

The New York Times has been introducing word game challenges to its fans and the latest to come from the giant is the Strands game. As the name suggests, it is a word search puzzle game that does not have a word bank. Instead, the challenge is to thread the letters together in any way.

This includes diagonally, down, zigzag, and more throughout the 6 by 8 grid of letters. These are all connected by a shared theme that is presented and the key is to find the 'spangram' in the game. This is a special word that uses all of the letters available and connects two opposite sides of the grid in total. The theme helps identify the words and Strands is available to play for free.
