Stitched Handmade Apparel

Blue Blue Japan Experiments with Dyes, Stitches and Patchwork for SS19

Japanese fashion label Blue Blue Japan is prepared for the Spring/Summer 2019 season with a new collection of stitched handmade apparel. The new range is infused with handcrafted concepts using an indigo-dyeing process, sashiko stitching details and boro patchwork, resulting in a selection of coveted pieces. The capsule introduces a wide range of silhouettes adorned with the aforementioned indigo dyes applied by hand. Some pieces include graphic printed shirts, scarves relaxed t-shirts, bucket hats, pants with heavy patchwork, parkas, shorts and blazers.

The accessories selection, along with the tees and patchworked pants, is made using a more intricate process, which results in a more differentiating selection—whereas the rest of the apparel boasts similar aesthetics of muted navy blue hues. The entire collection ranges from traditional touches resembling Japanese yukata shirts to rich suiting textures. Additionally, materials such as linen and cotton are incorporated for breathability, whilst the dip-dye details elevate the simplistic pieces.
