Flower-Pressed Photography

Hackney Flowers by Stephen Gill Combines Nature and Film

Renowned British photographer Stephen Gill has given us a new and astonishing series of photos. Hackney Flowers is a collagelike photo series in which Gill took a bunch of seeds, flowers, berries and even insects and pressed them to photographs in his studio. He then rephotographed them alongside other photographs to create a multilayered image effect.

Hackney Flowers by Stephen Gill is an interesting approach to modern photography using traditional elements.

Implications - My favorite of these flora photo wonders has got to be the one featuring gigantic yellow petals, reminiscent of the skins on bananas. The unique piece almost looks like a palm tree the way it's put together and I think I would very much enjoy it if such a tree existed.
