LA-based brand Akomplice launches a new line called the Libertas series, which features political statement tees. The graphics on these t-shirts are not only visually intriguing, but also morally compelling.
The images printed on these tees focus on extreme contrast of opposing lifestyles, between developing countries and the Western world. All the pictures are shocking because they include either gun violence or impoverished children, juxtaposed with glamour and wealth within the same image.
One of the designs shows a billboard of a model flashing a rock-sized diamond on her hand; underneath that same billboard are dozens of shirtless African children mining in dirt. Through images like this, Akomplice attempts to call out the ignorance and inequality that comes along with capitalism.
