IKEA is Launching 'Bootcamp' as a Start-Up Incubator

'IKEA Bootcamp' is the name of a new start-up incubator from the well-known Swedish furniture brand. Through IKEA Bootcamp, start-ups will be granted $22,400, free accommodation and the chance to spend three months in Sweden, with access to IKEA's prototyping shop and test lab.

According to IKEA, the project aims to push innovation across several areas, including: food innovation, disruptive technologies, customer experience, disruptive design, sustainability, manufacturing, as well as the supply chain and analytics. Within the realm of food innovation, IKEA is hoping to work with new companies on projects that involve urban farming, virtual reality food tastings and new ingredient experimentation.
