'Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire' is a Group Hyper-Reality Experience

Disney World's up-and-coming virtual reality attraction, Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, is being touted as "a hyper-reality experience" that truly immerses participants in the sci-fi world.

The experience involves customized VR headsets, backpacks, props and tracking technology, all of which are used in an environment with interactive location-based technology to help groups of players immerse themselves at once. Groups of four will find themselves transported to the planet of Mustafar, where they will be challenged to "recover Imperial intelligence vital to the rebellion’s survival." The mission will not be easy, as the team will find themselves on enemy territory.

Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire was created as part of a collaboration between Lucasfilm, ILMxLAB and The VOID and is set to open in December at Disney World in Florida and early next year at Disneyland in California.
