Calabarte's Standing Lamp XIII Looks Like a Medieval Weapon

There is something quite menacing about the Standing Lamp XIII. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that it looks like a mace, a deadly medieval weapon. Funny enough, this light fixture was actually crafted out of fruits grown on gourd, an annual tropical vine originating in Africa and Asia. Unless these fruits are poisonous, which they are not, the deadly aesthetic is purely imagined.

Created by artist Przemek (Calabarte), the Standing Lamp XIII features an intricate design that has been both carved and perforated. These tribal-like patterns are not only beautiful to behold like paint strokes on canvas, but they also create a stunning effect on the walls of the room it is in when turned on.
