Guest-Inspired Date Keepers

The Standard 2014 Calendar Visualizes Memorable Visitor Comments

The Standard 2014 Calendar is a hilarious visualization of some of the hotels' guests most memorable letters, request and comments. The hotel chain, which reach Downtown LA and Hollywood across the country to Miami and New York, are known for its quirky and hip existence. This date keeper simply solidifies it.

Shot by photographer French multimedia artist Thomas Mailaender, the Standard 2014 Calendar stars 12 of the chain's employees, all of whom reenact a hilarious scenario. Whether that involves being "the nicest pooch-lovers in the whole world" to demanding compensation because the hot tub melted the prescription off their glasses, they take on their new roles enthusiastically.

The Standard 2014 calendar was conceived by Amsterdam-based creative communications agency KesselsKramer. Kessels states, "Our favorite image is in April on the calendar. It’s a comment of a guest who lost faith in life, after losing his wife and job. But after staying in The Standard he felt 'reborn'."
