Medal-Inspired Sneakers

adidas' New Stan Smiths are Decorated with Gold Accents

Sportswear giant adidas has released its classic Stan Smiths with an Olympic-inspired design.

The 'Stan Smith 999 24K Gold' is part of adidas' '999 Noble Metals Pack' that also features a pair of Rod Lavers. Both shoes are completely white except for their heels, tongues and Stan Smiths' label, which are all featured in gold. The shoes were created in collaboration with 'Etyzinger' -- a decades-old German company "known for its expertise in the rare art of gold leafing." The shoes were designed with the inspiration of gold medals in mind, a fitting tribute seeing as the 2016 Summer Olympics will soon be upon us.

These white and gold shoes are both eye-catching and play into the current excitement surrounding the Olympic games.
