These stainless steel sculptures created from splashes of colliding frozen liquid look like they could be optical illusions. However, they are actual sculptures made by Johnson Tsang. Based out of Hong Kong, the talented artist has been known to use a variety of materials such as ceramics, porcelain, coffee and stainless steal to create his fascinating frozen-in-time work.
In this particular series Johnson has created sculptures of eerily realistic human faces. He molds these faces that seem to be emerging out of cascading splashes of stainless steel. The splashes themselves have been manipulated to look as if they are pouring and spilling out of different glassware.
Smooth, cold curves make up the details of the faces of these stainless steel sculptures that, from some angles, are so subtle you have to look twice just to make out what exactly is going on.
