Eddie Bauer Was Purchased by Sparc Group for an Undisclosed Sum

An entity of Simon Property Group named Sparc Group recently entered into a deal to acquire Eddie Bauer, however the purchase price was not made public.

Under the new ownership, Sparc Group will attempt to grow Eddie Bauer by expanding in China, Korea, Latin America, and Europe. Sparc Group will also launch new outdoor Eddie Bauer products. The deal is expected to close in early June after subsequent closing conditions are met, like antitrust considerations for both the United States and Canada.

Last year Sparc Group also purchased several other retailers, including Brooks Brothers and Lucky Brand. This past December, Simion Property Group had also entered into a partnership with Brookfield to purchase J.C. Penny.
