The US Postal Service goes on to explain that "the blue light within the hazy circular core at the center of the image represents clusters of older stars" and "the light these old stars emit are some of the shortest infrared wavelengths seen in the telescope's images." The Star Cluster stamp, on the other hand, is located 1,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Perseus. Its identification is IC 348.
