Insurance-Selling Cartoon Characters

The Latest Progressive Ad Features Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic's Progressive commercial features the lightning-quick Sonic the Hedgehog bolting around the imaginary Progressive store looking for some top savings. Luckily, he went to the right place because Progressive’s spokeswomen Flo tells Sonic that he doesn’t have to run around searching for deals anymore because Progressive compares rates with other insurance companies!

Sonic jumps for joy and doesn’t seem to realize that he doesn’t really need car insurance -- or a car, for that matter, because he is 10 times faster than any automobile. The only insurance this supersonic hedgehog needs is life insurance for the speed at which he runs. Perhaps Sonic’s Progressive commercial should have featured a slower and more dimwitted video game character, such as Bowser.
