The Electree is a solar phone charger that merges technological innovation and a stylish, attractive design. Described as "part sculpture, part appliance," Electree has been in development since 2008. After limited prototype production last year, the concept is now on Kickstarter.com looking for $200,000 in donations to get the project off the ground.
This solar phone charger uses 27 amorphous silicon solar panels that can be moved toward the sun at anytime. The energy gathered from the sun is then stored in a 14,000mAh internal battery. Without any constant sunlight, this battery can recharge an iPhone5 over nine times, a Galaxy S3 seven times, or an iPad2 twice. This solar phone charger also has the ability to charge your devices wirelessly.
Although still in development, the Electree looks like a product we’ll be seeing more of in the future.
