Solar Array Estimates By Satellite- Sungevity

If you've thought about powering your house with solar technologies, Sungevity is a new Berkley website that would be of great interest to you.

Sungevity looks for your home via satellite images after you input your adress. After pinpointing your location, the service identifies the size of your roof, gives you an estimate of what it would cost to install solar panelling, and then calculates the estimated savings.

"Once the order is placed, an off-the-shelf prepackaged solar array is shipped to the customer's door, and an installation crew is dispatched," CNNMoney explains.

"We believe that solar power should be affordable and easy to access for all homeowners," said Danny Kennedy, Sungevity President and CXO. "Much like Dell Computer revolutionized the PC industry and Netflix movie rentals, our goal to is to jump start the residential solar industry by making it simple and efficient for everyone with a view of the sun to go solar."

They offer free iQuotes, but their services start at "just" $7,500. Don't you love how they say that?

Or you can order a roll of simple solar shingles and do it yourself on the cheap!
