The Smithsonian Institution held an exhibit of architectural designs being considered for the new National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Six architectural firms were chosen to display their concepts for the $500 million-dollar project, which is to be built between National Museum of American History and the Washington Monument.
Concept models can be found on display at the information center at the mall. The awe-inspiring models radiate the latest architectural feats of design and are to be constructed to conform to the U.S. Green Building Council's sustainable building practices.
