Elkus Manfredi Architects have revealed its plan to develop a smart city near Boston, that addresses recent concerns of population density and environmental sustainability.

According to the architecture firm, this new community will be developed "from the ground up" at a former navy airfield. The area will feature the latest in technological developments, including specialized roads for autonomous vehicles as well as "smart systems for collecting and sharing data, to improve the lifestyles of future residents and the management of the city."

This tech-infused community follows a series of newly announced smart cities, that are set to be developed throughout North America in the next few years, including Alphabet's plans for Toronto's waterfront and Bill Gate's urban innovation investment in land throughout Arizona.
