3D-Printable Skeleton Models

These Skeleton Models Can Be Download and 3D-Printed By Students

Skeleton models and their high-tech graphical depictions have long proven to be exceptionally useful as learning and educational tools, particularly in the context of teaching students about human and animal anatomy.

Now, thanks to work carried out by researchers over at Massey University in New Zealand, students will be able to download 3D-printable models of anatomical specimens of animals. The models were created from original specimens before being routed through commercially available 3D printing technology. As of now, students can download skeleton models of a cane toad and a spiny dogfish, with more specimens set to be made available in the future.

What's great about the availability of 3D-printed skeleton models is the fact that they allow for hands-on and immersive learning that is far more desirable, not to mention effective, than simply looking at a picture in a textbook.
