The skateboard art of Matt Reilly from Japanther is one way to bridge the gap between two passions. The Brooklyn-based artist puts on a performance to create his latest collection of paintings. With a makeshift ramp covered in a detachable canvas, he has managed to create abstract skateboard art to the delight of his audience.
Titled Wall Ride, the skateboard art is installed at the Mana Contemporary in Jersey City. In order to create the soft colorful strokes against the white canvas, Reilly outfitted the wheels with saturated sponges in vibrant shades of blue, red and brown.
