This Dwelling Was Fashioned Out Of a Former Grain Silo

Stella van Beers, a Dutch innovator who graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven, has put all of her technical skills as well as creative gifts and imagination to use in the creation of Silo Living, a silo home that was built within a grain silo.

Silo Living, which van Beers received from a farmer who had a grain silo that he wanted to get rid of, manages to pack in a living room area with some storage space and a ladder that leads up to the bedroom. Considering the limitations of fashioning a dwelling out of a grain silo, it's not surprising that this silo home does not manage to offer running water or electricity. However, it could function as a temporary cabin or rest stop for adventurers, and represents the art of smart repurposing.
