The Silla Dgrulla is Origami-Inspired and an Artistic Element in a Room

A chair is supposed to be a comfortable piece of furniture, isn't it? Well would the word "pointy" ever tempt you into trying out the Silla Dgrulla? Crucially, this angular armchair is actually quite complementary to the contours of the human body, even though its overall appearance includes sharp corners and rigid planes.

When the Dgrulla Studio of Mexico designed this contemporary perch, they were working to model it on the origami crane that's used as their company logo. The papercraft object has triangular wings and balances beautifully on its folded extremities. A similar effect is established with the sharply cut wooden components of the Silla Dgrulla that are stabilized by a fine steel structure for the front legs.
