The 'Silenced' Infographic Explores Women's Role in The 2012 Election

The 'Silenced' infographic by Kaye Toal calls out news corporations and those involved in the media for the almost unthinkable lack of women's voices in 2012 American election coverage.

Based off of statistics in the US, the chart details a number of disturbing statistics in regard to references and voices heard (or unheard) in regards to women's issues during this politically dominated media season. The most disturbing section of the chart is the stats in regard to who is quoted in terms of issues such as abortion, women's rights and Planned Parenthood. With women referenced 50 percent of the time in regards to issues which directly impact them, it is clear that an out-of-touch media landscape remains at play.

Despite bringing some bad news, this infographic clearly spells out a disturbing picture of media representation inequality.
